Meet the BABE team!

Zoie Drake - BS, IBCLC, CIMI

As a lactation consultant and a mother, I know firsthand how complex and emotional the feeding journey can be. Navigating the challenges of lactation and infant feeding with my own little one has only deepened my passion for supporting families. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers parents to feel confident and supported—no matter what their journey looks like.

- Zoie Drake, IBCLC at BABE

As a dedicated International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since December 2023, I bring a wealth of experience and personal insight to my practice. My journey into lactation consulting began with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development from the University of Texas, followed by roles at Texas Children's Hospital, where I supported families in the Heart Center and NICU. These experiences, along with my work as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI), allowed me to teach parents the benefits of massage and movement for their babies. Through these roles, I discovered my passion for equipping parents with the knowledge and confidence to navigate early parenthood. Seeing how education and support empower families inspired me to pursue lactation consulting, where I now have the privilege of helping parents feel informed, confident, and supported in their personal feeding journeys.

In 2018, I married my husband, a chemical engineer, and during the pandemic, we welcomed our bernedoodle, Luna, into our family. In 2021, we became licensed foster parents, embracing the challenges and joys of sudden parenthood. Now, as a mother to a 7-month-old baby boy, I am personally navigating the complexities of infant feeding, deepening my empathy and connection with the families I support.

Committed to continuous learning, I have recently completed specialized education on early milk production and am pursuing certifications focused on tongue ties and bottle refusal. I am excited to bring this knowledge to Bay Area Breastfeeding & Education (BABE), where I aim to empower parents with the tools and confidence they need on their feeding and lactation journeys.

“It’s so important to get help early on with your breastfeeding concerns. You don’t have to tough it out on your own and I’m so glad I got the support I needed at BABE.”
